Grease separator for hard-to-reach places
What makes Oekomax grease separators so special on the market? We are often asked this question. Where there are special space requirements for a grease separator, Oekomax grease separators are used particularly often.
It is narrow, the doors are extremely narrow, the ceiling height in the cellar room where the grease separator is to be installed is not high enough and any other space problem for the installation room of the grease separator, these are the places where the grease separators from Oekomax are installed.
Because we not only produce the grease separators ourselves, but also install them ourselves, we know exactly these challenges that many operators of grease separators face from our own experience. We install more than 100 separators ourselves every year and you can imagine that there is practically no space problem that we have not already encountered ourselves.
Access to the most suitable cellar space under the kitchen is behind the counter, accessible via a hatch in the wooden floor and a steep wooden staircase, which is how we found a grease separator location in a beer garden in Munich. A special construction was required here, the grease separator had to be welded together from several parts in the cellar. The situation was completely different in Frankfurt, where we found a very narrow cellar exit that also went around a corner and then we had to get the separator through a door that was only 70 cm wide. This is where our standard grease separator with a width of 630 mm came into play, which we managed to get around the corner and fit through the narrow cellar door. After many such experiences, we designed our 2 main products, the grease separator of nominal size 2 and the grease separator of nominal size 4, in a width of 630 mm so that we can always get through the narrowest cellar doors.
It really is no exaggeration when our installation teams carry the grease traps down into the cellar that this is only possible with the extremely narrow grease traps we produce. There is virtually no bottleneck that our fitters have not yet seen. When you consider that the robust design of our separators can weigh up to 260 kilos, you can imagine that the dimensions of the separator play an extremely important role. At 260 kilos, we often need up to 16 hands to move the grease separator at all.
The height of the grease separator also plays a not insignificant role. Which hotel operator, restaurant operator, pub operator or operator of a daycare center or a nursing home or retirement home always has enough space in the basement for a grease trap? In all catering establishments and other businesses where grease separators are used, space is a rare commodity. It may be that the grease separator can only be installed in a place where there is no normal ceiling height. The bottom line for us is always: “Oekomax grease separators are used where space is really tight”. Now you might think that where a large separator is really needed, we also reach our limits. Yes, that is certainly sometimes the case and we end up having to install an underground grease separator outdoors. But then there are also locations where we simply install several grease separators with parallel inlets in order to provide the grease separator volume required by the DIN standard for the connected kitchen.
Finally, we would like to talk about our special constructions in connection with the various space problems. We can also manufacture grease separators individually according to your requirements and assemble and weld them in parts on site. In this way, we adapt the grease separator to the special dimensions that we find on your premises. Such projects, in which we refer to the grease separators as “special constructions”, are of course much rarer than the standard grease separator from Oekomax production. But in these cases in particular, it is not so easy to find a partner.
